Dead People Read Your Script 2: Jesus

Well, what can I say about Jesus that hasn’t already been said? That he is opposed to abortion? Supportive of human rights? Supporter of Capitalism? Supporter of the Invasion of Iraq?
In fact the problem is, that I can’t. Not that I can’t say those things at all – I mean I could if I wanted. The problem, so far as I see it, is that these things have already been said. Everybody already has their own little bit of Jesus claimed, and are unlikely to hesitate to stick their hand in his back, and play him like a doll. Oh, God hates fags, God loves slaves, blah blah blah. Thing is, Jesus isn’t speaking for himself, which means he’s just a vehicle for anyone to express their own opinion. And that, you’d have to suggest, isn’t divine at all.
